Moonlight, Trapped in Stone
Hold a moonstone at an angle and something moves inside it — a soft blue glow that drifts across the surface and disappears when you turn it away. The effect is called adularescence, and it comes from alternating layers of feldspar so thin they scatter light the way the atmosphere scatters moonlight.
It is also June's birthstone, which is why so many of these leave us in a gift box.

Rule of thumb: larger beads read bolder and heavier; smaller beads in triple coil read softer and stack well. If you want the flash to be the point, choose 8 mm. If you want it to be a whisper, choose 4 mm in three wraps.
Materials, Plainly Stated
Natural moonstone — a feldspar, hardness 6 to 6.5, softer than quartz and much softer than jade. The body is milky white; the flash is blue, which is the classic moonstone look and not the same as "rainbow moonstone" (that one is labradorite, with a multi-color sheen). We mention the difference because it is the single most common source of disappointment in this category.
No treatment, no dye. The white body and blue sheen are both natural.
How to Wear
Single wrap, 8 mm — one clean line on the wrist, the flash doing all the talking.
Triple coil, 4–5 mm — reads as three thin bracelets, works with a watch on the same arm.
With linen, white cotton, or pale wood; moonstone goes quiet next to gold and bright next to silver.
Care
Moonstone is a soft stone: it scratches, and it can crack if dropped on tile. Wipe with a soft dry cloth; keep it away from perfume, hairspray, and household cleaners. Take it off for the gym and for gardening. The elastic prefers dry air — the stone is fine with water, the cord is not.
A Note on Natural Stone
Blue flash varies from bead to bead: some carry a strong, sharp sheen, others a faint haze, a few almost none. A strand with a flash on every single bead at this price does not exist in nature — it would be sorted and sold at several times this. Ours are graded for a clear overall flash, not for bead-by-bead perfection.
